Ankida Ridge Vineyards
Far from the cities, high in the mountains, a tiny vineyard grows. A slew of serendipitous events led the Vrooman family of Virginia Beach to the distant mountains of Virginia and plant a grape thought to be impossible to grow in Virginia's climate. But high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the air is cool, the soils rocky and porous and the slope steep, they discovered Pinot Noir can indeed grow if planted in the right place! And in 2008, Virginia's Little Burgundy was born.
