Please welcome to the starting lineup: Fiddler Chin Music Toasted, the Fastball Release!
The background: When the Atlanta Braves approached us about opening a distillery and tasting room at The Battery Atlanta, we were beside ourselves with excitement! Opening our Battery Atlanta tasting room (our 3rd Atlanta location) just in time for the 2021 season, we worked to select a barrel of Bourbon for the private collection of the Braves. From that private barrel, an idea took shape: to make those selections more widely available, as a series of releases celebrating all things Atlanta Braves.
This Wheated Bourbon Whiskey is distilled from 51% corn, 45% wheat, and 4% malted barley finished in new, toasted oak barrels. We think you'll agree with us that Fiddler Chin Music Toasted Bourbon is “down the middle” for whiskey lovers. Because it is finished in toasted barrels, there is an emphasis on the sweeter vanilla and caramel notes, but the barrels we picked are also very oak-forward for a balanced flavor.
Each batch will have varying details laid out on an inset on the front label including age statements, toasted levels of the finishing barrels, char levels of the finishing barrels, and more. This edition, Fastball Release #1 will be more widely available than the first two releases. For Batch #1 within the Fastball #1 Release, we married 5 barrels that began their life in Char 1, 3, and 4 white oak barrels. Aged 5 years and 2 months, 80% of this batch finished in Medium & Heavy toasted barrels for 18 months and 20% finished in a toasted barrel for 2 months.
A limited number of bottles will be available to purchase all next week at our Battery location, but a ticket to the release on the 15th guarantees you a bottle of Fastball Release #1. With notes of rich oak, butterscotch, subtle peach, and a long lingering caramel finish, you won't want to miss this hitter at bat.
