On Friday 27th of January we're very excited to host our friend Carsten Saalwächter of Weingut Saalwächter in Rheinhessen for our second winemaker's dinner.
Since tasting his 2017 debut vintage his wines and warm personality have made a great impression on us.
Situated in Ingelheim am Rhein, with additional vines on the other side of the river at Assmanshausen, Carsten farms mainly Burgundian varieties, with the notable exception his love child, Sylvaner.
Dinner will take place around our communal table. We’ll be pouring a selection of our favourite wines from the 2020 vintage alongside our late winter set sharing menu. Carsten will join you at the table to share his approach to winemaking and a few ‘cheers’ with you all.
Tickets are 155€ per person, which includes food, wine, water, schnapps and coffee.
Seats are limited and only bookable through the event link on Tock.
Sample menu (subject to change):
Sourdough Bread & Butter
Fallow Flatbread
Radicchio, Apple, Walnut & Colston Basset
Scallop, Blood Orange & Dulse
Cavalo Nero, White Beans & Egg
Potato, Taleggio & Black Truffle Cappelletti
Simmenthaler Bavette Jerusalem Artichoke & Preserved Lemon
Mousse au Chocolat & Almond Ice Cream
Due to the nature of the event, sadly we cannot make any changes to the dishes, including catering to a pescatarian or vegetarian diet, or other food tolerances.
Looking forward!
