Join Dennis Cakebread (Chairman of Cakebread Cellars and Founder of Mullan Road Cellars) and Tucker Ladd (Owner of Trout’s Fly Fishing) for the 4th Ever Cast & Sip. Enjoy a relaxing evening at the Chatfield Gardens in Littleton, CO casting fly rods and enjoying quality wines all in the name of conservation.
Why a Cast & Sip? It turns out that fine wine and fine fly rods have a lot in common. You’d never buy a new rod without testing it first, feeling its heft and how it bends. The same goes for fine wine—before buying a case you want the chance to taste it and learn its story. Thus, Cast & Sip was born.
We wanted this event to have more of an impact than just on your taste buds and fish count, so we decided to turn it into a fundraiser. This year’s gross ticket sales will be donated to Denver Trout Unlimited, whose mission is to protect, reconnect, restore, and sustain our cold-water resources.
Trout’s Fly Fishing of Denver is having their top fly rod producers bring their latest rods for you to cast and sample (Including the new Sage R8, Winston Air 2, Loomis Asquith, Orvis Helios 3, Scott Centric). Cakebread Cellars and Mullan Road Cellars are bringing some of their top wines (including the Napa Valley Chardonnay, Two Creeks Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and the 2018 Cabernet from Mullan Road for you to sip. (Notice this is a sipping event, not a drinking event). We will also have small bites on hand from Organic Roots Catering. Tickets are limited.
With the latest and greatest in fly rods to cast and a selection of terrific wines from Cakebread Cellars and Mullan Road Cellars to sip alongside paired bites, it will be a wonderful evening for a worthy cause.
