September and October are months of harvest for grapes. Treading or “Stomping” an ancient Roman practice that continues in the Douro Valley of Portugal. This soft yet intense crushing action creates an unrivalled smoothness to the wine while allowing greater control over the crushing and releasing of tannins and colour. The festival starts 12 Noon.
Guidelines

... wear pants that can be hiked up.
Stomping will be with clear plastic boots over your soft-soled shoes, socks, or bare feet
Shoes should be easy to remove.
Consider adding baby oil to your feet and legs to reduce staining. Watch out though, this will make your feet more slippery so use caution
