Few winemakers in the Napa Valley still in production today are often referred to as “legends.” Cathy Corison is unquestionably a legend of Napa Valley. Along with her husband and partner in Corison, William Martin, Cathy has produced benchmark singular Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa since her inaugural vintage in 1987. The house style of Corison is undeniably Napa but with an old world restraint, which is what draws collectors, sommeliers and bordeaux lovers to the wines. A small production, Corison wines are elegant yet powerful. When the icon herself Cathy Corison said she would like to do one of her only yearly wine dinners at Frasca, we all pinched ourselves and jumped with joy. The lineup chosen is essentially Cathy’s favorites, most especially the 2001 Corison Cabernet, her stated “favorite.” This intimate night with a Napa Valley legend is not to be missed.
