We're teaming up with chef and restauranteur, Tigist Reda, of Demera Ethiopian restaurant (in Uptown) for a one-of-a-kind dining experience! We'll be serving up platters of Demera messob (combination of 8 meat and vegetarian dishes) which can be soaked up with traditional injera (spongy flatbread made of teff flour).
The ticket includes a welcome drink, appetizers, seated meal shared family-style, a poetry reading, traditional Ethiopian coffee service, and ice cream courtesy of Pretty Cool Ice Cream!
Optional wine pairings curated by our friends Ben + Olen of Minum Wines! Wine pairing includes three wines to pair with the various dishes of the messob platter.
Due to the current war in the Tigray region of Ethiopia, Tigist has focused her attention to help the women who are survivors of gender-based violence. She has worked closely with HPN4TIGRAY to fundraise to help open mental health centers in refugee camps in Sudan and other needs of the survivors of GBV.
Tigist is currently working on supporting GBV survivors with medical needs, mental health needs, and creating small businesses to support their lives.
Ticket proceeds will go directly to the women Tigist met in the refugee camps to help open their own cafés.
Please note that at this time, Guild Row is a COVID 19-vaccinated persons-only space. Please be prepared to provide proof of vaccination at the door.
