Baking Traditions Across Continents: An evening with Ellen King and Jürgen Krauss

Join us Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30pm at Hewn for a special event with Great British Bake Off Semi-Finalist and author, Jürgen Krauss!
Ellen King (Co-Owner and Director of Baking Operations at Hewn Bakery) and Jürgen will team up to explore the art of pretzel-making and bread baking in honor of his debut cookbook, The German Baking Book. The duo will guide guests through traditional German pretzel methods, including braiding techniques, and the class will conclude with warm, fresh pretzels straight from the oven. Participants will also get a behind-the-scenes look at Hewn's operations, with Ellen and Jürgen sharing tips and techniques for home baking, along with insights into their books and future projects.

This event is taking place at our Evanston bakehouse. As such, please wear non-slip shoes and comfortable clothing. Long hair must be pulled back.
Attendees must be 18 or older.
