October Sunday School: Loire Diversity with the Wines of Côme Isambert
Côme Isambert is a small winery that started up in Saumur in 2013. After 12 years in the wine and organic sectors, Côme decided to launch his own domaine and produce high-quality wines, less than 6,000 bottles a year. His philosophy is to produce wines and ciders that reflect the diversity and richness of the Loire Valley terroirs, and to showcase the complementarity of grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau Noir, Grolleau Gris and Gamay through different cuvées, while making a point of respecting the natural winemaking process and the diversity of natural environments. Côme’s winemaking ability, in combination with the chalky and schist terroirs of Saumur, leads to wines that are a perfect representation of the outstanding potential and diversity that can be found in the Loire Valley! In a word, these are STUNNING wines; do not miss this very special event.
