About the position

Tock is looking for an experienced Interactive Design Lead to add to our growing Marketing team. We are nimble and passionate about helping our customers, supporting our sales team, and inspiring guests to discover and book great dining experiences. You'll be part of a dynamic group, working alongside some of the world’s best Chefs, accomplished entrepreneurs, and world-famous restaurant owners. The ideal candidate is interested in working in a fast-paced, startup environment, not afraid to own streams of work, and is excited about helping the restaurant and hospitality industry through creativity and technology.

What were looking for

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Development
    • Strong JavaScript development skills, understanding of new ES6 concepts, and proficiency in React, Gatsby, and other modern JS frameworks
    • Experience with Wordpress/PHP/SQL (we have a headless Wordpress admin to power a statically generated Gatsby blog)
    • Full knowledge of the DOM, new HTML5 constructs, and CSS3
    • A strong understanding of mobile-first strategies, responsive design and development
    • Comfortable implementing APIs, analytics, and pixel tracking
    • Have experience with Single Page Application development
    • Comfortable with build systems such as webpack, CRA, and Gatsby
    • Package management with NPM/Yarn
    • Code deployment/branching with Git/GitHub
    • Experience with TypeScript, SCSS, and Node.JS is a plus
    • Up-to-date with the newest front-end technologies
    • A strong understanding of, and practical experience with, web application development
    • A sincere commitment to crafting readable and dependable code
  • Design and Interactive
    • A creative mind and an eye for design details
    • A strong understanding and ability to implement interactive behaviors and animations such as scroll triggers, waypoints, and other creative coding techniques
    • Experience creating interactive digital ads and web graphics
    • Experience designing web pages and email templates a plus
  • Email
    • Email development experience with a deep understanding of email coding standards using HTML and CSS
    • Experience with responsive email design and development
    • Comfortable building HTML emails from scratch as well as using drag and drop interfaces to best support the marketing team’s content needs
    • Litmus testing experience to ensure emails are displayed beautifully across all devices and clients
    • ESP knowledge with at least one of the following: Simon (preferred), Mailchimp, Iterable (preferred), Sendgrid, Sailthru, and/or Constant Contact
    • Segmentation and list building
    • Experience with Google Tag Manager, pixel tracking, triggered emails, abd dynamic email content is a plus
  • Content and Strategy
    • Comfortable concepting and pitching various microsites, landing pages, lead forms, and interactive campaigns to Tock’s leadership team
    • Ability to work with the rest of the marketing team to recognize creative and technical opportunities
  • Project Management
    • Ability to scope and lead digital marketing projects
    • Comfortable working towards and communicating deadlines and project tracking
    • Comfortable taking a digital marketing project from start to finish, including seeking out stakeholder feedback, outlining milestones, and writing-up post-mortems

What you’ll do

  • Develop new features into Tock’s marketing properties, including both B2B and B2C microsites, landing pages, and email templates
  • Ideate and execute the team’s, as well as your own, creative concepts across a variety of web-based platforms
  • Stay up-to-date on email marketing standards and contribute towards email best practices
  • Work closely with Tock’s in-house marketing design team to develop beautiful websites, landing pages, and other interactive assets
  • Take a lead role with other marketing team members to provide strong user-focused experiences and pixel perfect web pages
  • Maintain Tock’s digital marketing properties with the latest frontend technologies such as React and ES2016+
  • Practice disciplined web software engineering
  • Actively contribute to the team and company standards
