Berg Hospitality Group decided to get creative with a former storage closet by turning it into a Cuban speakeasy. CEO and founder Benjamin Berg wanted to amplify Houston’s music scene with a 50-seat lounge, bringing the city a new take on live music.

2. A Taste of 1950s-Era Havana

With its luxe Latin vibe, Emilia’s Havana transports guests to a 1950s-era club in Cuba’s capital city. Cuba’s musical golden age was marked by vibrant nightlife, glitzy cabarets, and high-energy performances. Emilia’s has a house bossa nova band along with local DJs spinning tunes nightly.

3. Alba Huerta is Shaking Things Up

James Beard Award-winning mixologist Alba Huerta is behind the bar shaking up Cuban-inspired concoctions. Named one of Entrepreneur‘s “Most Influential Women”, Huerta’s cocktail list includes the classics, like Hemingway daiquiris and a Cuba Libre.

4. Order Everything

You’ll want to try everything on chef Brian Sutton’s small plates menu. We’re talking lobster-corn empanadas, King crab croquetas, Wagyu-truffle tartare, and duck confit Cubanos. Not to mention fresh ceviche and a reserve of caviar.

5. Wear Your Dancing Shoes

While your reservation secures your seats, it wouldn’t be a true escape to 1950s Havana without a spin on the dance floor. The band will have you moving in no time.
