Prepare to expand your idea of what a food and wine pairing can be at this ultra-exclusive dinner with guest chef-in-residence Shenarri Freeman. While indulging in her five+ course tasting menu—paired exquisitely with small-lot wines from Nicole Hitchcock—you’ll be able to converse directly with Chef Freeman to learn more about her story, process and inspiration for every dish.
Chef Freeman serves up a revolution in the culinary arts, cooking soulful southern cuisine with a plant-based twist and was recently deemed “New York City’s Buzziest New Chef” by Vogue. Boasting a menu bursting with flavor, her vegan spin on traditional southern fare includes palm cake with grits and collard greens, and jerk fried chicken of the woods mushrooms with pickled radish and almond ricotta dill. Chef Freeman shares our belief that an exceptional meal goes far beyond pleasing the palate—it has the power to heal us and connect us with something larger than ourselves.
This one-of-a-kind dinner is part of our limited culinary series, Shifting the Lens, where three guest chefs-in-residence share their unique perspectives and life experiences through thoughtfully crafted pairing menus in the Bubble Room.
Chef Freeman pulls her inspiration from her travels and seeks to heal her community through food. Raised in Richmond, Virginia, her family gatherings always centered around southern cooking and soul food. After seeing first-hand the health benefits of a plant-based diet, she decided to pursue culinary school with the goal of changing people’s minds about what vegan food can be. She was also a recent nominee for the Emerging Chef award by the James Beard Foundation, and reservations at her restaurant in New York are impossible to come by. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to meet Chef Freeman and join us on our mission towards a more inspiring and eye-opening food and wine experience.
Gratuities are appreciated and will be pooled and distributed among all non-management service staff supporting our guest experiences.
