Spirit. Citrus. Sugar. Water. The four elements that combine to form the backbone of the sour cocktail in its many forms. Come join King’s Ransom and our colleagues from Brown-Forman as we spend an evening exploring the world of sours and the role this category played in the development of the classic cocktail cannon. Guests will learn the importance of achieving harmonious balance in the sour, the role of fresh citrus, the use of various foaming agents, and proper shaking technique. Each guest will enjoy four unique cocktails paired with small bites for an evening celebrating spirit, citrus, sugar and water.
Cocktail: Tequila Sour (Herradura Reposado Tequila, Cinnamon Brown Sugar Agave, Grapefruit)
Food Pairing: Takoyaki (Fried Octopus Dumplings, Spiced Japanese BBQ, House Spice Mayo, Tempura Crunch, Bonito Fish Flakes & Nori Dust)
Cocktail: Irish Sour (Slane Irish Whiskey, Apple Cider, Apple Juice, Lime, Egg White, Aromatic Bitters)
Food Pairing: Salmon Poke (Sushi Grade Salmon, Avocado, Scallions, Sushi Rice, Rice Pearls)
Cocktail: Gin Sour (Ford’s Gin, Green Tea Ginger Syrup, Lemon, Orange Bitters)
Food Pairing: Vegan Cone (Ginger Fried Tofu, Edamame, Cucumber, Sushi Rice)
Cocktail: Lokum Sour (Gentleman Jack Daniels, Banana-Cumin Syrup, Lemon, Apricot Tea Infused Aqaufaba, Black Walnut Bitters)
Food Pairing: Bulgogi Poke (Marinated Beef, House Kimchi, Sushi Rice, Scallions)
Guests can expect all of the above and:
- safe, socially distant tables in accordance with VA law.
- No more than 8 people for each seating.
- Masked servers.
- Single use cutlery / plating.
- Safe, controlled environment.
