This is a drive-yourself caravan tour, stopping at 3 locations.
This tour is designed for adults and does require walking on a variety of surfaces, including inclines and uneven terrain. The rum tasting portion of the tour is specifically limited to guests 21+, with a valid, physical government-issued identification.
3 Tour Stops:
1. Kuleana Rum Works Farm located near the Northern end of the island, close to Hāwī.
2. Kuleana Rum Works Distillery, in Kawaihae.
3. Kuleana Rum Tasting Room, in Waikoloa Queens' Marketplace.
(The primary ticket holder will receive a text message with specific location details the day of the tour)
Overview:
To start, we will explore the Kuleana farm and learn about the fascinating story of how kō arrived in Hawai'i (hint: not with the sugar industry) and about the amazing Wayfinders who developed it over millennia and cultivated ~30 unique Hawaiian varieties after introducing it as a “canoe plant” 1000 years ago. You'll also learn about how we harvest and then enjoy a refreshing glass of freshly pressed wai kō (sugarcane juice).
From there, you'll drive to the Kuleana Rum Works distillery, in Kawaihae, to learn about the spirits-making process and see firsthand why our rums are rated among the world’s finest.
Finally, you'll drive to the Kuleana Rum Shack Tasting Room, at Queens’ Marketplace in Waikoloa Beach Resort, and unwind with a guided tasting of our four core award-winning, additive-free rums.

Tours run rain or shine. If conditions are deemed unsafe, however, we reserve the right to cancel. In such cases, you will have the option to either receive a refund or reschedule.
Restrictions: Guests should be comfortable walking on uneven or rocky terrain and be prepared for potentially cool, wet, or muddy conditions. Additional tour restrictions may apply.

Restrooms NOT available at the farm. Restrooms ARE available at the distillery and Tasting Room.
