Sisterly Love Sunday Supper - Cocktail Party
Sisterly Love Collaborative invites you to a cocktail party co-hosted by award-winning pastry chef and author, Lisa Donovan, and benefiting Women Against Abuse during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
A dozen acclaimed women chefs and restaurateurs will serve fall dishes, mixologist Resa Mueller of R&D will keep the seasonal cocktails flowing, and live music is on deck for this socially distanced event at Cherry Street Pier’s picturesque garden, within their open-air space.
ABOUT LISA DONOVAN: Renowned Pastry Chef Lisa Donovan helped establish some of the South’s most important kitchens, and her work is at the forefront of a resurgence in traditional desserts. Yet the sting of the setbacks and disappointments she faced navigating an industry ruled by entrenched inequities never faded. She survived abuse and assault as a single mother. Our Lady of Perpetual Hunger is Donovan’s searing, beautiful and searching chronicle of reclaiming her own narrative and the experiences of women who came before her.
ABOUT WOMEN AGAINST ABUSE: The mission of Women Against Abuse, a 501(c)(3) organization, is to provide quality, compassionate, and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education.
MEET THE CHEFS: Ana Caballero of Proyecto Tamal, Bridget Foy of Cry Baby Pasta, Judith Suzarra-Campbell of Sazon, Emily Hyland of Emmy Squared, Carolyn Nguyen of Revolution Taco, Jill Weber of Sor Ynez, Ann Karlen of Third Wheel Cheese, Monica Glass of MonicaGlass.com, Laquanda Dobson of Sankofa Community Farms at Bartram Garden, Shelby Zitelman of Soom Foods, Ellen Yin of The Wonton Project, Stephanie Willis of Everybody Eats Philadelphia, Jen Zavala of Juana Tamale, and more!
