Go wine tasting guilt-free by starting your weekend off with a gorgeous vineyard hike across our majestic Bell Mountain vineyards at Medlock Ames. Begin your Saturday strong with a 2 mile hike weaving through various vineyard blocks learning the intricacies of what goes into being a 100% organic vineyard. Sweat out your Friday night by scaling the steep uphill dirt path to the top of our B’s Cabernet Sauvignon block, the highest vineyard at Bell Mountain. Soak in the view at the summit of the vineyards and winery near the peak of the mountain.
Your adventure continues as you pass the wildlife corridor that provides a sanctuary and outlet for the numerous animals who call Bell Mountain home. Our ranch straddles both the Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley appellations so you’ll wander through both AVAs learning how their climates create unique growing conditions for different grape varietals. You’ll then swing around the top of our historic Jefferson Merlot block, past the old oak tree and then pop into our market garden to grab some fresh veggies before descending to our pollinator garden where the hike ends and the retox-tasting begins. Grab a breakfast bite and cool off with some crisp white wine or perhaps rose if we’re feeling cheeky. Then sit down to a leisurely guided tasting of select current vintage small production wines along with some library gems paired with local cheeses and fruit from our garden. You will end this 2.5 hour adventure feeling energized and even more connected to nature and what makes the Medlock Ames wines from Bell Mountain unique and delicious.
