About Tony: After living in Europe for 24 years, Tony Elsinga returned to the states a bonafide wine aficionado. He started writing wine lists for upscale restaurants and won the coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2005. Elsinga joined The Tasting Room in 2006 won the Houston Iron Sommelier Competition and the Houston cellar Classic’s Sommelier Smackdown in 2007. In 2011, Tony had the opportunity to go out on his own and with his partner is owner of Medallion Global, LLC, an importer and distributor of French wines focused on old and rare Bordeaux and small estates from various regions.
