Do your favorite pair of jeans need mending? Or do you want to add decorative, geometric designs to your jean jacket? Spend your Sunday afternoon with local embroidery artist Melissa Johnson, of MCreativeJ. Sashiko embroidery is a decorative mending technique that is a wonderful way to get more use out of your clothes and a creative way to patch your favorite worn out pieces. The use of colorful thread and geometric patterns turns worn out pieces into wearable works of art. Participants will need to bring an article of jean clothing to embroider. All other workshop materials will be provided. No embroidery experience is required and all skill levels are welcome in this class.
