Please join us in Sonoma on Saturday, November 13 for a unique opportunity to learn about truffles with the charming and James Beard-award-winning author Rowan Jacobsen.
Truffles, like oysters and wine, inspire the obsession of foodies and adventurers alike, not only for their distinctive deliciousness, but for the extraordinary environments and compelling characters that shape their cultivation. Together, we will explore the fascinating stories behind the world’s most prized tuber.
Your adventure begins in the Obsidian Wine Co. tasting room in Sonoma, and from there we will wander through the beautiful Cornerstone Gardens to a private reception in the Garden Barn, where you will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres of oysters and crostini with black truffles and taste four Obsidian wines with cofounder Michael Terrien. Rowan Jacobsen, will be here from Vermont to discuss truffles and sign copies of his newly published book: Truffle Hound. Rowan’s earlier books on oysters, apples and American terroir are wonderful romps in the pursuit of the flavor and the flavor of place. He’s insatiably curious and is a captivating storyteller with a great voice.
Tickets are $75 per person, or $100 with a signed copy of Truffle Hound. Space is limited and by reservation only.
