Page Mill Winery was founded in 1976 at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Founder, Dick Stark, was selling lasers around the world at the time and, on his days off, would walk through the Rheingau in Germany visiting small family wineries. He returned to California and proposed to wife, Ome, that they make a life change.

Dick spent 28 days with son, Eric, excavating a cellar underneath the family home on Page Mill Road in Los Altos Hills, and Page Mill Winery was born. Dick began making...
