Moving into peak flower season, we will deep dive in the garden getting to know the many perennial and annual flowers available at this time.
Participants will have an in depth tour of the garden, getting to know the details, colours and scents of late summer. We will discuss seasonality, how to find the optimal moment to harvest flowers and how to use that knowledge to reflect the season, as well as how to make flowers last as long as possible.
Using principles of design and colour theory, guests will make a beautiful naturalistic arrangement to take home. We will design ‘on the wild side,’ using foraged and found materials as part of the process, and work on principles of using eco-friendly floral mechanics. Light refreshments will be provided by our RPM Bakehouse team.
Note: Guests should arrive prepared to be outside, with appropriate footwear for walking on uneven ground. Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended, as well as a light layer in case the temperature falls. We will provide garden tools, but guests may bring their own garden gloves if desired. Please include details on personal dietary restrictions and allergies when booking.
*In the case of heavy rain or inclement weather, we will postpone the workshop to a future date.
