On Wednesday, December 14th, Publican Quality Meats will be hosting a very special Italian wine dinner, highlighting the complex yet subtle and rich flavors the team at Sant'Elena Winery have become known for. As we welcome the Sant'Elena wine team into our space, they will be explaining the history and regions of these wines, while you enjoy courses elegantly paired with each wine selection. For wine lovers and all, this dinner is one of a kind and not one to miss!
*Smoked Trout Agro-Dolce - with Apples, Radicchio, Pine Nuts, Horseradish
White - 2018 Friulano: A harmonious representation of Friulano; the wine leaves a long-lasting delicate flavor in the mouth. Presenting floral and fruit aromas of plum, almond, cedar and white peach.
*Frico Morbido - with smoked ham and ajvar
Red - 2009 Merlot: With vivacious ruby color, this is a wine characterized by ample and elegant perfumes of cherries and roses with hints of chocolate and tobacco. The finish concludes with fresh and soft well-integrated tannins.
*Museto e Brovada - friulian sausage, turnips preserved in red wine, buckwheat grini
Red - 2010 Merlot Cru Ros do Rol (Single Vineyard): Merlot in purity with an intense red color with violet reflections. The scent is very rich and complex, with hints of morello cherry, cocoa and leather, it has a powerful structure and elegant tannins.
*Spezzatino d’Agnello - lamb stewed with wine and spices served with polenta
Red - 2010 Tato ( Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot ): A wine with an intense ruby color and exuberant aromas of wild berries and blackberries, with hints of licorice and light tones of coffee bean. On the palate it is warm, long and enveloping, with soft tannins.
*tres leches cake - with oven roasted pineapple, candied hazelnuts, and cajeta
Barberani Viticoltori, Moscato Passito: This wine is amber and deep yellow in color. The nose is filled with flowers, tropical fruits, peaches and apricots. The palet is driven by apricot, citrus fruit.
