What is the best way to understand wine? There are many different approaches to take: starting with viticulture (the process of wine growing) and then viniculture (the process of wine making), historically, region by region, through the lens of varietals, etc. Approaching wine through the lens of varietals gives you the opportunity to focus in and learn both more about a varietal you may be interested in, looking at it how its developed historically, specially through the move in styles (Old World v. New World). Raleigh has designed a set of classes that aims to let you dig into a varietal you love or learn more about one that you're less familiar with.
Over the next month or so, on Wednesdays we will be offering varietal specific classes, looking at Old World and New World styles. Each class will include a tasting of at least 6 wines. Light snacks will be provided. These classes will be socially distant and are capped at 20 people. We hope you can join us! (If you are interested in doing all three, please contact us directly for a discount.)
