Sung presents the Winter edition of Landslide: a multi-disciplinary experience inspired by subtle shifts that remind us the ground below our feet can slide at any moment - towards or away. An intimate show of paintings will be paired with a vegan Korean tasting menu developed and prepared by the artist Michelle Jane Lee.
Landslide represents the current body of work which tackles the confusion and complexities of being a "dual identity" (Korean and American.) Both the paintings and the menu are an attempt to reconcile this undefined and fluid space. To turn neither/nor into a whole. The act of creating each of these paintings and plates is a hopeful pursuit to see that an existence as "many" is a valid and authentic identity in itself.
For the dinner, guests will be presented with a 10-course vegan Korean tasting menu composed of traditional Korean dishes conceptualized and adapted by the artist. Complimentary wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered with dinner. As guests are seated family style for an intimate dining experience, we kindly ask that you arrive on time.
