Few regions in the wine world are as picturesque as the northern Italian region of Alto Adige. For over 100 years, the Hofstätter winery has produced some of Italy’s most compelling examples of Pinot Nero, Weissburgunder, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gewurztraminer.
Martin Foradori Hofstätter took over the family estate in 1992, building a new winery in 1998. Winemaker Markus Heinel has been working hand in hand with Martin for over 20 years, crafting terroir-driven, delicious wines that are benchmarks of the region.
For this Tastemaker Dinner, we are thrilled to welcome Markus to guide guests through a historical tasting of some of the estate’s greatest wines - a side by side of Weissburgunder including the single vineyard “Varthenau Vigna San Michele”, the iconic 2010 Gewurztraminer from the village of Tramin, and three remarkable Pinot Neros - the hallmark of the Hofstätter estate.
