SEMINAR 1 | The Great Terroirs, Soils and Biodiversity of Chianti Classico
In this seminar, we will discuss not only the great wines of Chianti Classico and the diversity of the UGAs but also the unique biodiversity of the region including the Oliveti, Cipressi, Boschi, and more. We will showcase how the boschi impacts the wines themselves and taste through examples of these wines. We will dive into the soil types as discussed in Alessandro Masaghetti’s book "Chianti Classico: The Complete Atlas of the UGA Vineyards" and how these translate into the wines. We take a journey through the terroirs and biodiversity of Chianti Classico. This one-hour class will be led by Caterina Mori of the Consorzio Chianti Classico and Frasca Hospitality Group’s Wine Director Carlin Karr, Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, and will also include three or more producers whose wine will be present during the seminar.
*Must be 21+ years of age to participate.
