Enjoy this late morning tea experience as we brew and taste two Japanese teas from our current collection followed by enjoying ochazuke, a simple but elegant Japanese dish of green tea, rice, and salmon roe. You will learn about our teas' terroir, processing, and tea maker; enjoy nuances in aroma, flavor, and finish; and take away brewing tips and recommendations.
For our current tea collection, we worked with a single tea farm to offer four teas that we feel are true yet distinct representations of the most common loose leaf teas in Japan. This 9th generation tea farm is based in Shizuoka, Japan, the largest producing region for teas in the country. Unlike most of Japan's tea production, this producer grows, picks, and steams the final product in-house. They have won numerous competitions for their fragrant senchas.
As a guest of this experience, you will receive 15% off any Tekuno purchases for the day.
Please note that this event takes place at Fig & Thistle Market, a cozy shop in the Castro that serves natural wines, sake, and cider.
