Paying Homage to Great Grandma Marica - A Weekend of Croatian Food with Eva Mrak. Join Eva for a weekend that celebrates her Croatian lineage. on Friday, February 17:
Eva and her team will prepare a 4-course Croatian Tasting Menu. Feast on the Croatian dishes passed down to her from Great Grandmother to her Grandmother, to her mother and to her.
Throughout the weekend, hear stories of how these dishes came to be, how they have evolved, and other family food lore.
First Course
Knedle | schmaltz, sour cream, paprika
Croatian cottage cheese dumplings
Second Course
Sarma | Elmcrest Farm chorizo, local sauerkraut, stewed tomatoes
Croatian stuffed cabbage rolls
Third Course
Beef pasticada, potatoes, scallion
Braised beef, wine, aromatics, butter

Prefer to get your hands dirty? On Saturday, February 18 you can roll up your sleeves and learn to cook like Grandma. Join Eva as she honors Marica’s recipes (though she never actually measured anything) and learn how to make knedle start to finish! You'll make Croatian Cottage cheese dumplings from scratch. While they cook, enjoy tastes of Sarma (Croatian stuffed cabbage rolls), and a favorite Croatian cheese.
