Share the table with us at Hilltribe for a special feast style meal prepared by Chef Yia Vang and his parents, Nhia and Pang. Gathering together for a shared meal plays a central role in Hmong culture. Let us share some of our traditions that have been passed down through generations and experiences.
Join us to share in the narrative behind our food. This Spring, Yia traveled to Laos and visited the village where his mother was born. The village is now called Ban Nam Seung, but 25+ years ago it was called Pakkia. Join us for dinner to share in a meal and hear stories of Yia's travels to these places of his heritage and learn more about how you can have a direct impact on this community that is over 7,000 miles away.
A note from Yia: "People have often asked 'what is Hmong food,' and while we strive to show that in our restaurants, you also need to truly immerse yourself in Hmong culture. One of the ways to do that is to eat at the table in a Hmong home. Dinners like these are how we bridge that gap and bring the table to you, to bring you into our culture."
Please note, we are not able to make dietary accommodations for this event. The menu for this dinner may include the following ingredients: milk, egg, fish, shellfish, meat, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame. This dinner is best suited for guests 21+.
