Ikebana is the ancient Japanese art of floral design, focusing on minimalism, negative space, and
harmony. Ashton, owner of The Spotted Poppy Floral, uses her knowledge from Tokyo to lead an
hour-long introductory workshop.
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
+Fresh flowers (to keep)
+A ceramic dish & kenzan/flower frog (to keep)
+Shears (for rent)
+Step-by step on how to design an ikebana arrangement
We hope you'll join us for an evening of Japanese Florals! Uroko is offering a special discounted rate on temaki sushi before/after the workshop.
We recommend arriving a few minutes early if you’d like to purchase sake to enjoy during class!
NOTE:
Because of an ikebana arrangement’s unique shape, they can be tricky to transport when finished. We recommend pouring out your water after class and retrimming your stems once home, and placing it on a flat surface in your car.
Seating is limited, in order to give each participant access to individualized instruction and plenty of
workspace.
