Gevrey, Morey, Chambolle, Vosne, Morey, Nuits-St-Georges. (And don't forget Marsannay and Fixin!). The most celebrated real estate on the planet for red wine, it's always worth rediscovering what makes this deceptively simple region tick. One contiguous east-facing slope of Jurassic limestone, plains below, forests above, vines in the middle, has the capacity to produce wines that speak more loudly of the postage stamp of land where they were grown than they do of grape variety, vintage, or winemaker. It's a region that fascinates, but also intimidates. We'll break it down, get to know it better, talk vintage and producer details, and -- most importantly -- drink some beautiful Burgundy.
