Paul Donnelly is the executive chef of Chinese Tuxedo on historic Doyers Street in New York’s Chinatown, which received a glowing two-star review from The New York Times in early 2017. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Donnelly spent the early years of his career in kitchens throughout Southeast Asia and Sydney, Australia, working for world-renowned chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and David Thompson. A New York transplant since 2016, Donnelly pushes the boundaries of New York’s Chinese cuisine, creating classic and modern dishes rooted in traditional Chinese culture. Beyond his time spent in the kitchen, Paul pursues an interest within the fashion and art worlds of New York, and devotes time each year traveling back to Australia and Southeast Asia to visit family and reconnect with the many cuisines of the region.
