Tried & true or spanking new. Here’s a curated list of fun and delicious things to do in and around Kansas City this month.

1. Learn to make Rye Plaza‘s famous coconut cream pie. On September 18th, pastry chef Keara Masson is sharing her baking secrets in a 90-minute hands-on class with complimentary bubbles.

2. Stop by The Campground, an intimate aperitivo cocktail bar in the Stockyards District for Midwest-inspired fare and fantastic drinks. Whatever you do, save room for the Fernet Sundae.

3. Start your Saturday off right with rooftop yoga at Crossroads  Hotel. Guided by Emily Cox, these weekly sessions take place on the rooftop beer garden. Bring your own mat.

4. Experience a little bit of history at Golden Ox. Originally opened in 1949, the restaurant catered to ranchers and farmers who brought their cattle to the stockyards. The iconic steakhouse has undergone massive renovations, but continues to serve prime hardwood-grilled steaks.

5. Join Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen on September 14th for a signature wine tasting devoted to the wines of South Africa. Featured tasting flights will showcase four unique pours curated by the team.

6. Book the Mi Casa Experience at Sabor Latino. It’s a special chef’s choice family-style meal offered Tuesdays-Thursdays showcasing authentic Latin dishes.

7. Snag seats at the chef’s counter at The Town Company. Chef Johnny Leach pays homage to the Midwestern table, combining old-school culinary traditions with modern techniques. The cozy 6-seat counter is situated in front of a live-fire hearth.

8. Raise a glass at Ça Va, the intimate champagne bar in Historic Westport. Here you’ll find Kansas City’s most extensive selection of grower champagnes and unique sparkling wines from around the world, alongside a seasonal menu from award-winning chef Howard Hanna.

9. Don’t miss the French wine dinner at Ragazza on September 13th. Chef Erick Salnave is preparing a special 4-course menu to pair with French wines.

10. Venture to Leawood for cocktails at Verdigris Bar, a premiere art deco-inspired, Prohibition-style lounge from the team behind The Monarch Bar and The Mercury Room. Happy hour starts at 3 p.m.
