Some wine dinners begin with a bottle we love. This one begins with a place we love.
Join us on Tuesday, September 15 for a five-course dinner celebrating Farina and the wines of the Veneto.
Our connection to this region is a personal one. On our last trip to Italy, we had the opportunity to visit Farina and tour the winery together. Zak also spent time staging in Valpolicella, and when his stage ended, we were able to spend time exploring the region together.
We fell in love with it—the landscape, the food, the people and, of course, the wines.
For this special dinner, Zak will create a five-course menu paired with five Farina wines that take us on a journey through the Veneto and into the heart of Valpolicella.
We’ll begin with Bardolino Chiaretto, the delicate, refreshing rosato traditionally produced near Lake Garda, followed by Soave, the fresh and mineral-driven white of the region.
From there, we’ll explore three expressions of Valpolicella: the bright, vibrant fruit of Valpolicella Classico; the deeper, richer character of Valpolicella Ripasso; and finally, Amarone della Valpolicella, produced using the traditional appassimento method of slowly drying grapes after harvest to create remarkable concentration, depth and complexity.
Tasted together, these wines tell the story of a place and its winemaking traditions—and give us the opportunity to share a region that has become very special to both of us.
