Hi Catoctin Members:
We invite you to join us for a vertical tasting exploring the second blend of Catoctin Breeze, Nocturne, a wine that offers a bit more concentration and structure than Fauteux, while remaining focused on generosity and accessibility.
After Concerto is assembled and decided upon, we select the best of the remaining lots to create this wine. Each vintage offers a unique expression of the growing season, allowing us to see how our winemaking, vineyard conditions, and climate shape the wine from year to year.
What is a vertical tasting?
A vertical tasting is an opportunity to taste the same wine from different vintages, allowing you to experience how each year develops its own distinct character while still reflecting the same place and winemaking philosophy.
We will taste through four vintages of Nocturne: 2022 – barrel sampling of 2025.
Monika will host the vertical tasting on Sunday, October 4th at 11am in the lounge. She will take a deeper dive into the differences in winemaking from vintage to vintage, as well as the climatic conditions that shaped each growing season. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore the evolution of wines grown at Catoctin Breeze and reacquaint yourself with our ethos and overall philosophy.
Tickets are $35 per person and include a sampling of four wines, with light charcuterie accompanying the tasting. Members will also have the opportunity to purchase the 2022, 2023, and 2024 vintages following the tasting.
