Join us for a magical evening under the stars at our McLaren Vale cellar door for a unique and exciting Stargazing and Premium Wine experience designed for anyone who enjoys the night sky and fine wines.
Short presentations will set the scene by introducing a selection of exquisite Chalk Hill wines and the amazing Universe that surrounds us. We then begin our journey beyond Earth into the depths of the Universe where we will explore lunar craters, view the stunning rings of Saturn, and chase down colourful nebulae, sparkling star clusters, strange ruby red stars, wispy remnants of stellar explosions, distant spiral galaxies and possibly a quasar at the edge of the known Universe; all the while accompanied by good friends and premium wines.

About Our Astronomer
Dr Kym Thalassoudis enjoys a lifelong passion for Astronomy and Space with special interests in community engagement, supernovae and celestial cartography. Since January 2000, Dr Kym has published The Evening Sky Map each month at Skymaps.com, helping over a million sky watchers worldwide discover the wonders of the Universe. Dr Kym is a former President of the Astronomical Society of South Australia and, prior to retirement, was employed for 30 years as a rocket propulsion scientist where he led a team of scientists, engineers and technicians.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to guarantee clear skies for stargazing sessions. Hence, an alternative program will be offered indoors if poor weather prevails on the night.
