Brothers and Sisters: Alan Paul Book Talk and Signing
Pittsburgh native and New York Times best-selling author Alan Paul comes back to the Steel City to share his latest book: Brothers and Sisters: The Allman Brothers Band and the Inside Story of the Album that Defined the 70's. We'll start the evening with a pour of the collaboration beer Brothers and Sisters brewed by Cinderlands and Alan Paul to celebrate the pivotal album and the book's release. Paul will give a candid talk about his new chronicle that dives deep into the band's place in a tumultuous decade: their involvement in Jimmy Carter's campaign, their relationship with the Grateful Dead, the epic show at Watkins Glen, and more. After the talk, Paul will sign copies of Brothers and Sisters, which will be available on-site for purchase from Posman books. After the signing, stay around for a casual meet and greet with Paul and fellow Allman Brothers Band fans.
Alan Paul is a musician, journalist, and author known for his memoir Big In China as well as his oral histories of Stevie Ray Vaughan (Texas Flood) and the Allman Brothers Band (One Way Out), which were both New York Times Instant Best Sellers. Paul leads the bands Big In China and Friends of the Brothers, the premier tribute to the Allman Brothers Band. Paul is a longtime senior writer for Slam and Guitar World magazines and a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, for which he has profiled musicians including Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt and Paul Simon.
