We love having winemaker dinners at darkroom - it gives our wine loving clients the opportunity to experience wine with the people who made it. There’s no substitute for having the winemaker explain their approach to winemaking, the terroir, the vintage and how the wine is evolving. For wine lovers, this is like having Ohtani in your backyard explain his approach to hitting.
It’s always been a challenge getting French winemakers here to do dinners because of the distance. So when we get a chance to do so, we jump on it. Especially when none other than legendary wine critic Tim Atkin gives you an accolade like that.
We’re thrilled to be hosting Andrew Nielsen, the founder of the estate and its winemaker. Prior to founding Le Grappin, Andrew worked for some of the best winemakers in the world, including Burgundy legend Simon Bize. His winemaking style is to focus on purity and allow the terroir to shine through. Oh, and he speaks perfect English so we can expect a lively discussion.
We are unlikely to be able to do many of these French dinners, so we encourage all of our Burgundy lovers to make time to attend if you are available. This is a can’t miss event!
