Doe's Eat Place was established in 1941 by Dominick "Doe" Signa and his wife Mamie. Doe's father moved to Greenville in 1903 and opened a grocery store in the building that now serves as the restaurant. The family lived in a house behind the store. The grocery, which the Signa family called Papa's Store, did well until the 1927 flood. After that, Big Doe Signa went into bootlegging to help the family get back on its feet. Please keep our policies in mind when booking: When booking for Birthday parties, Children under the age of 15 are not allowed to be at a table by themselves at any time without a parent present at the table with them for any reason. We have a firm 24 hour cancellation policy, if you cancel less than 24 hours of reservation time the deposit is not retuned. For parties of 10 or more, a $150 deposit is required. The deposit is refunded back if 70% of the party shows within a reasonable time from the reservation time. Reservations are only held for 15 minutes. We will need half of the guests present to start seating the table. Please keep in mind for parties of 6 or more you must call the restaurant to speak with a member of our staff to book your reservation and pay your deposit to secure your reservation date and time.
