Dosanko is a family-run Japanese Yōshoku restaurant in Vancouver, created by Akiyo and Nathan Lowey and their two children.
Akiyo grew up in Hokkaido, Japan, and Nathan is a Red Seal–certified Canadian chef. When Akiyo first cooked for Nathan at home, he remembers thinking her food was like something made by a Japanese grandmother he had never had—warm, comforting, and full of care.
