We're excited to announce the return of The Durant Olive Mill's Community Milling Day! On Sunday, November 16th, we will be collecting olives from small growers across the Northwest.
We encourage growers with less than 1,000 pounds of olives to participate in this special event. Much like the traditional community milling days in the Mediterranean, we will combine everyone’s freshly picked olives to mill a seasonally unique Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This oil will celebrate the distinct and delicious flavors of our cool-climate region.
We look forward to seeing you there!
To celebrate this occasion, Durant Brut sparkling wine, mimosas and light brunch style bites will be offered to guests!
Milling Day Details:
- Weather permitting, we recommend trying to pick your olives as close to the milling date as possible and storing them in a cool, well ventilated place.
- Bring olives in a vented container, uncovered, such as a 5 gallon bucket or bin.
- Olives will be inspected and weighed. Olives that are damaged or compromised will not be accepted.
- The cost is $1.50 per lb of olives processed
- Example yield: 50lbs of olives will yield roughly a 1/2 gallon of olive oil (depending on quality, handling, ripeness, and other factors)
- Your olive oil will be ready for pick up by Saturday December 6th! We will reach out when it is ready!
Have more than a ton of olives? Ask about our commercial milling program.
