Spring Break Day Camp: Safe & Sharp Knife Skills Young Chefs Ages 9-13
Confidence in the kitchen starts with safety and skill! In this hands-on day camp, young chefs will learn essential knife skills every cook needs on how to safely hold, carry, and use a knife, along with proper cutting techniques that build both precision and confidence.
Students will practice a variety of basic cuts while learning which knives are best for different tasks. Using fresh vegetables and ingredients (including seasonal produce from our farm when available), campers will put their skills to work by preparing a meal using the ingredients they have practiced cutting throughout the class. Throughout the day, we’ll emphasize kitchen safety, organization, and respect for tools, helping young chefs develop habits they can confidently use at home.
