Embrace your lioness. We're pouring Leony's Cellars, a woman veteran and family-owned boutique winery out of Enumclaw, and the winemaker is coming along for the ride.
It started in 2014 with a Craigslist search for a wine barrel — Sandi was active-duty Navy at the time — and ended with a leap into winemaking that's still going strong a decade later. The name means "lioness's," after Sandi's great-grandmother Alta Leony. Everything they make is small batch, from Washington-grown grapes, and their shelf is stacked with Seattle Wine Awards medals.
Your $25 gets you four pours plus a bonus taste of their award-winning port. Ask questions, hear the stories behind the bottles, and take home whatever you fall for — most of their varietals run 50 to 100 cases, so when you find the one, buy it.
Dog-friendly, as always. Walk-ins welcome, but seats go fast!
