Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important holidays in many Asian cultures dating back over 3,000 years. Each country has a slightly different customs and festival food, including the new modern trend of backyard BBQ in Taiwan. But one thing is common - it is a day of reunion.
For the 3rd year in a row, the Good To Eat family invites you to come celebrate with us and folks in our community! As previously covered on KQED, the annual festival will feature classic Taiwanese BBQ and great vibes. The aroma, the chatter, the energy - will instantly transport you to Taiwan.
COMMUNITY ARTISTS
On Friday, two talented Asian American artists Jane (@janeli.co) and Faith (@faithcaoculator) will be setting up shop to showcase their creations. We might have a musical performance too - stay tuned!
On Saturday, we are thrilled to have ONIKHO, Angela Hsieh, Roziht, and friends performing tunes with Taiwanese roots - both old and remixed. They are a group of talented and community-driven artists who want to celebrate and share the Taiwanese culture with everyone. Tamiko (@tamiko.sidore) and Stephany (@laiberry.art) will be showcasing their art as well.
