We are "Italian Italian" as they say here in the states with owner Massimo Papetti hailing from Rome, Italy and his wife Carolyn having lived there for eight years. Owners Massimo and Carolyn Papetti met in Rome, Italy in 1997 while Carolyn was studying abroad. They made a life for themselves in Rome where they lived together for eight years, before moving back to Carolyn's native East Hampton on Long Island where they made a name for themselves in the restaurant industry where Massimo was the GM of Cittanuova on Newtown Lane in East Hampton and Carolyn was the GM of the iconic Nick & Toni's in East Hampton. They moved to Washington, DC in 2015 with their children, Luca and Francesco, and opened I'm Eddie Cano in 2018 in the neighborhood where they live and their children attend school. The opened the Italian Bar in 2022 which is just three doors down from I'm Eddie Cano.
