Kraki Ktor: Exploring the Terroir of Armenia
Thursday, August 27, 2026 6:00 PM
In Vino & Spirits – La Cañada Flintridge
$25 per person
Join us at In Vino & Spirits on Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 PM for a special tasting dedicated to the Kraki Ktor lineup—an exploration of Armenia’s remarkable terroir and the influence of its ancient soils on wine.
At the center of the evening will be two distinctive expressions of Armenian Syrah:
Karas Kraki Ktor Syrah Volcanic
Grown in Armenia’s mineral-rich volcanic soils, this Syrah reflects the intensity and character of its origins, offering structure, savory depth, and a distinctive mineral expression.
Karas Kraki Ktor Syrah Alluvial
Produced from Syrah grown in alluvial soils formed by layers of sediment deposited over time, this wine offers a fascinating contrast—showcasing a different expression of fruit, texture, and balance.
Tasted side by side, Volcanic and Alluvial provide a unique opportunity to experience how two different Armenian terroirs can shape the same grape variety.
Rounding out the tasting will be Kraki Ktor Orange, created from Kangun grapes grown in volcanic soil. This distinctive orange wine showcases the raw, untamed energy of the Ararat Valley and provides another perspective on the relationship between Armenia's native grapes, volcanic landscape, and modern winemaking.
Together, the Kraki Ktor wines tell a story of soil, place, and Armenia's evolving wine culture—connecting one of the world's oldest winemaking regions with a bold new generation of wines.
Join us for an evening of Armenian wine, terroir, and discovery.
