Join Istorya for Kape Uncovered, an intimate six-course coffee experience told through the lens of Philippine Kape.
Led by Istorya’s resident coffee educator, Nathaniel “Neil” Soque, Licensed Q Grader, roaster, and consultant, this guided masterclass explores Philippine coffee history, sensory evaluation, brewing craft, and the people and traditions behind every cup.
Through a sequence of six beverages, guests will taste coffee across familiar rituals, cultural history, and contemporary specialty practice, from a welcome drink inspired by the Philippines’ most common method of coffee consumption to a Galleon Iced Mocha honoring the Manila–Acapulco trade route, specialty Philippine Arabica, world-class competition coffee, cascara tea, and a final mystery course that brings the experience together.
Along the way, Neil will guide guests through aroma, flavor, origin, and brewing technique, offering an approachable introduction to Coffee 101, coffee appreciation, and coffee-industry insight. Light food bites will accompany each course.

Your host
Neil Soque is a Licensed Q Grader, coffee roaster, consultant, and educator. Since 2016, his work has included cafés, roasteries, competition, consulting, coffee farms, processing, roasting, equipment, and barista education across the Philippines, the United States, and Canada. His work in coffee is rooted in a personal connection to Cebu City, his father’s hometown, and a commitment to sharing the Philippine coffee story.
