Rhône Roots, Paso Vibes: The Wines of Tablas Creek
Tablas Creek Vineyard, in the Paso Robles Adelaida District, is a pioneer of the American Rhône movement and the first Regenerative Organic Certified™ winery in the world.
Founded in 1989 as a partnership between the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and American importer Robert Haas, Tablas Creek Vineyard was established after a four-year search for soils and climate akin to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, ultimately importing and propagating all fourteen traditional Beaucastel grape varieties. The winery farms a 270-acre, solar-powered estate that is certified organic and biodynamic, employing dry farming, cover crops, and a mixed herd of sheep and alpacas to naturally manage and fertilize the vineyards. Recognized for its environmental leadership, Tablas Creek is a two-time winner of the California Green Medal for sustainability, a 2022 Wine Star Award nominee for Innovator of the Year, and has appeared eight times on year-end Top 100 lists from major wine publications.
