In the shadow of a car park in England's oldest town, because it's still a town to us. Kintsu is dragging Essex from the culinary dark ages serving ingredient led tasting menus inspired by the diversity of modern Britain.

At Kintsu we offer tasting menus inspired by the seasons and the cultural diversity of modern Britain. As a small kitchen we cannot cater to all allergies and cannot offer menus without egg, dairy or soy. We can cater to a limited range of dietary requirements if they do not pose a severe risk to your health, however we are not an allergy free kitchen and trace cross contamination is always possible. Vegetarian, Pescatarian and Gluten Free menus can be arranged with at least 48hrs notice. Unannounced dietary requirements will not be catered for. As of November 2026 only our full tasting menu will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday Evenings. We will continue to offer our short tasting menu Wednesday evening and weekend lunchtimes.
