Join us for Mousse’s first book club event, where the wine is as important as the book. We’ll meet Sunday, October 25, 5–6:30 PM, to discuss The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali while we sip on a Mousse wine thoughtfully paired with the book’s story, characters, and themes.
Guiding the discussion will be Jennifer Simonson, a lifelong reader with a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. She writes about pairing books and wine on her blog, Bookworm Wine + Words. And we’ll meet Mousse winemaker Josie Boyle to learn more about the wine and her winemaking process. Expect a relaxed atmosphere and lively conversation about books, wine, and how pairing the two can elevate our enjoyment of both.
“The Lion Women of Tehran” is a best-selling historical novel about a lifelong bond between two Iranian women, Ellie and Homa. They meet as children in the 1950s, but their lives diverge as they come of age amid political instability and revolution. The novel explores courage, class division, betrayal, trauma, resistance, and forgiveness.
Tickets cost $21 and include your first glass of wine. Additional wine pours and snacks will be available to purchase.
Need a copy of the book? Novel Sisters Mobile Bookshop will be at Mousse on Sunday, August 30 from 1–5 PM, where you can pick up your copy of The Lion Women of Tehran and start reading!
We hope to see you there!
